I try to run around the USC campus which is pretty close to the downtown. There are lots of cars passing and constructions going on. Plus Los Angeles as a whole, is notorious for smog and air pollution. But I don’t want to run indoors because I originally come from a very clean, quiet, and small town near Seattle, Washington, and I’m used to running outside.

I’m looking at moving to Redmond, WA in early 2007. I’ll be bringing with me $20,000, and my car to start. My main questions are as followed:
1) Do I need to use my car to travel into Seattle or can I use publich transportation? I hate driving highways and within busy cities (like LA). I perfer to use my car locally (in Redmond) and use bus system to get into and around the Seattle. Seattle seems to be only minutes away from Redmond.
2) Job market half way decent in the Redmond/Seattle area for clerical specialists?
3) Cost of living. Is cost of living high within Redmond/Seattle? I live in S. Calfornia and a studio apartment where I am goes for $1,500-2,000. I’m looking for something around $700.
4) How close are other towns/cities? Where I am now it takes forty minutes by car just to get into the city.
5) Weather. I’m tired of this desert hot weather. I’m looking for wet and cold weather. Rain, snow, ect. All the good weather I remmeber from living back east

Hello! I Grad school is over, my lease is up soon, and my schedule is wide open. I am planning on moving to Seattle in July with my girlfriend (her company has another office there, so she can transfer) and I’m looking to work as a research biologist, environmental consultant, environmental advocate or some mix of those. I’m open to anything.
I just finished my MS in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins Univeristy and have a BS in Wildlife Bilogy from Ohio University.
I have worked in Alaska, Arizona, and Florida while in school (summers) and am a big backpacker/camper/hiker. I’ve stayed at least one night in all the states except Hawaii. For the sake of my sanity, I knew I had to live out West and I love the Pacific NW……
Anyway, I’ve searched for jobs through all the standard listings and websites and was wondering if anyone knew of “green” environmental companies who do conservation or policy work in the Seattle or Bellingham area? Thanks!!!

I’m planning on going to the Sasquatch music festival in George, WA on Sunday and Monday, and I live in Southern CA. I was checking taxi rates, and I don’t want to spend $250 getting to George from the Seattle/Tacoma airport. Anybody know any better alternatives, besides renting a car (I’m 18, and nobody’s gonna rent to me)?

Meaning where would I catch it by the Greyhound Station, which route would I have to take and would I need to transfer anywhere? Also, how much does it cost. There has got to be a cheaper way than taking a taxi?
Thanks everyone for great answers. Already long gone from Sea-Tac and on my way. Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays or whatever. Either way, cheers!

Hi everyone! I am looking to go to med school at U Wash in Seattle. Suggestions open on that, but I am looking for a place to live. A commute isn’t bad if it opens up more open and affordable places to live. I will be on my own, but will bring my car w/ me to seattle. I don’t mind small towns, but I don’t really want to drive an hour every day either to get to town, but if the place is perfect I will. I am from Texas, and use to the conservative suburbs, knowing the inner city is much more liberal, kind makes me want to shy away from that area. I just want to be comfortable, since its a big move. Not afraid of the cold, have lived in the arctic circle of sweden and rainy england for a time. Really excited about the move and school, but I really like areas near the outdoors where I can escape easily and just as simply get to work, restaurants, movie theaters, etc. Will be 21 at time of move, so other young people or young family areas would be nice. Thanks for all the help!!!

A bus is driving west along the northern edge of the Olympic Peninsula. Those looking out the window on the right side of the bus will be facing what direction? What land mass should be visible across the strait of Jaun de Fuca?
Why is the airport “Seatac” called this?
What is the name of the island you will see looking west from Cape Flattery?
After arriving in Washington, we will travel south from Seattle to Tacoma before turning to the north. If OPI(Olympic Park Institute-an institute that is located right next to lake crescent)is northwest of Seattle, why is the first leg of this journey in a southerly direction?
Please, I have already scolded myself for not having done this earlier, my fault, I know. So please no nasty remarks…Just please help…
